Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH)

This resource connects families, educators, and community members to Northern Nevada Public Health’s Community and Clinical Health Services Division, which focuses on disease prevention, community education, and wellness promotion. The division offers vital programs including Immunizations, Maternal Child Health with pregnancy and parenting resources, Tuberculosis services, WIC nutrition assistance, and Sexual Health services encompassing family planning, HIV, and STD education and treatment. School leaders can leverage these services to support students experiencing homelessness or housing instability by connecting families to essential healthcare resources. The Maternal Child Health program provides developmental screening, safe sleep education, and breastfeeding support, while the Fetal Infant Mortality Review program works to improve maternal and infant health outcomes. This partnership strengthens the safety net for vulnerable students and families, ensuring access to preventive care, immunizations required for school enrollment, and nutritional support through WIC, ultimately removing barriers to educational success.
