Hazel Health: Clark County’s Telehealth Program

Hazel Health is a Clark County School District-sponsored telehealth program providing virtual therapy and medical services at no cost to families. Educational leaders and staff can refer students experiencing homelessness or in foster care through school counselors, social workers, or nurses for mental health support addressing anxiety, depression, and trauma. Licensed therapists conduct weekly 45–60 minute evidence-based therapy sessions accessible at school or home via smartphone, tablet, or computer. Students receive matched care with specialists in child and teen development, with research showing 75% experience significant reductions in anxiety and depression after six sessions. Parents provide one-time consent and can participate in sessions virtually. The program operates before, during, and after school hours, removing transportation barriers. Community partners benefit from improved student attendance and engagement, with 68% of participating students showing better school attendance.
