Communities In Schools of Nevada is a nonprofit organization that delivers integrated student supports directly on school campuses to help students overcome barriers to academic success. CIS works by placing site coordinators in schools to connect students and families with academic, social-emotional, and basic needs supports. Examples include case management services, access to food and clothing, mental health referrals, and family engagement programming. By partnering with schools and community agencies, CIS of Nevada provides coordinated, school-based interventions that address the out-of-school factors contributing to homelessness, absenteeism, and disengagement, supporting students in staying in school and graduating.
