Churchill County Social Services

Churchill County Social Services facilitates self-sufficiency for eligible residents through emergency and temporary assistance programs. Educational leaders and staff can connect students experiencing homelessness or in foster care with general assistance for rent and utilities, including utility deposit support. The agency provides indigent medical services for healthcare needs and homeless housing assistance through PATH (Provisional Assistance/Transitional) and Rapid Rehousing programs that help families achieve residential stability. The William N. Pennington Life Center offers additional support including Churchill Area Regional Transportation (CART), meal programs, homemaker services, and telehealth access. Parents and community members can access the 2-1-1 resource line for statewide assistance and 9-8-8 for mental health crisis support. These wraparound services address barriers to educational success by ensuring students’ basic needs are met, enabling them to focus on learning and development.
